IN REMEMBRANCE OF ROLF JULIUS
Rolf JuliusRolf Julius died on 21 jan this year. One of the most poetic sound artists, a fighter for the small and dirty sounds, just preparing a new London exhibition together with Miki Yui at the soundfjord gallery has left us. I would like to remember him as low-voiced as his sounds – but full of energy and with this overwhelming sensitivity for both a thin grey line or a minimal sound hardly noticed. In remembrance for one of the most important sound artists who could make stones talk, I did this little piece, untitled.

E L E C T R O V I R U S / 5 tracks
Jos Smolders wrote: after 10 years of service to the community EARLabs has stopped as an online reviewing, publicity center. Jos Smolders, composer, mastering engineer and sound designer has decided to focus his attention to his own music and the mastering of music of others. the site will end as such sometimes under 2011.
now – five years after my net EP “ELECTROVIRUS” was released by Jos on EARLabs as last release in Laboratoire Moderne – I make it available again before it gets “lost” , together with the original cover photograph.
